Back in the 1960's when the lotus twin cam engine was first released it developed a decent amount of horsepower and torque, but now, several decades later, the twin cam delivers considerably more power than the original designers could have ever imagined.

With the added power of the engine in the lightweight elan chassis the performance is quite astounding, but unfortunately the added performance leaves the elan drive line wanting, the antiquated rubber donuts (four all told) are being destroyed at an alarming rate, sorry... even brand new donuts won’t last the distance, and do you really want to drive a high performance sports car which has the elastic wind up - un wind phenomena, that's not how to enjoy a real sports car, is it?

So, the only solution is to install a super reliable drive train, a drive train that's engineered to last, and one that wont fail under increased engine power and torque, the elantrikbits CV drive shaft conversion will deliver everything that the spirited minded elan driver requires.
